After a string of eight wins, the Architecture, Engineering and Construction Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 78-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cardozo. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cardozo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brandon Barrett, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. Those 16 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Douvres, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Architecture, Engineering and Construction's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-1. As for Cardozo, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Architecture, Engineering and Construction will head out on the road to face off against Bowne at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Bowne's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Cardozo, they will be playing at home against Campus Magnet at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Campus Magnet is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
