Firestone has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the GlenOak Golden Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Firestone will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 569th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 225th).
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought match, but Firestone had to settle for a 55-52 defeat against the Indians. Firestone has not had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brittiana McCall, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Whiting, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, GlenOak was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 49-48 to the Blue Streaks. GlenOak has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Firestone has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for GlenOak, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
