The Johnson City Wildcats put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Corning-Painted Post 78-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Johnson City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tameem Abdul 'qahhar led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six assists and three steals. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Felix Morales, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Johnson City's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Corning-Painted Post, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Johnson City will head out on the road to face off against Maine-Endwell at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Corning-Painted Post will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McQuaid Jesuit at 2:00 p.m. on January 14, 2024.
