Jackson has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Poplar Bluff Mules at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Poplar Bluff took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Jackson, who comes in off a win.
Jackson posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-51 victory over Ladue Horton Watkins. The victory was all the more spectacular given Jackson's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Ladue Horton Watkins is ranked ninth).
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Poplar Bluff's good fortune finally ran out last Saturday. They suffered a rough 68-42 defeat at the hands of Howell. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Poplar Bluff has suffered since December 2, 2023.
Jackson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Poplar Bluff, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.
Jackson came up short against Poplar Bluff in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 49-45. Can Jackson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
