Georgia's AAAAAAA state tournament
also continues this week, as No. 2 Grayson defeated Pebblebrook
(Mableton) 67-54 Wednesday night to set up a state quarterfinal showdown
with Norcross (Ga.) next week.
Friday night saw another shocking upset as The Rock (Gainesville, Fla.) took down No. 5 Hamilton Heights Christian Academy (Chattanooga, Tenn.) 93-83 in overtime.
CIF Open Division Southern Section pool play wrapped up this week as No. 16 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) and Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) advance to next Friday's Southern Section title game. No. 20 Centennial (Corona, Calif.) suffered a pair of losses in pool play.
The Washington Catholic Athletic Conference semifinals are set as No. 9 DeMatha takes on St. John's (Washington, D.C.) and No. 22 Paul VI battles Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) on Sunday.
