Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Academy at the Lakes Wildcats, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 70-40 defeat at the hands of the Warriors on Wednesday. Academy at the Lakes has struggled against Seven Rivers Christian recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seven Rivers Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zoey Houle, who scored 24 points along with three steals. Joy Sullivan was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five assists.
Academy at the Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Seven Rivers Christian, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.
Academy at the Lakes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Seven Rivers Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face North Tampa Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on February 9th. North Tampa Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
