It was a good run, but the Clovis Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Carlsbad by a score of 37-35. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clovis has scored all season.
Clovis' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gianna Cordova, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Kailyn Jefferson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Clovis' defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-4. As for Carlsbad, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clovis will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (Hobbs is ranked first, while the Wildcats are ranked fifth). As for Carlsbad, they will be playing at home against the Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Roswell is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
