Softball Recap: East Ridge Wins Going Away Against Labelle

East Ridge's tournament run continued when they took on LaBelle on Friday. The East Ridge Knights put the hurt on the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls with a sharp 14-3 win. Considering the Knights have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

East Ridge got a great performance from Simmone Hymiller as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Hymiller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Lilly Land was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Veronica Peterson, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

The victory made it two in a row for East Ridge and bumps their season record up to 9-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for LaBelle, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

East Ridge's road trip will continue as they head out to face Florida Christian at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Florida Christian's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for LaBelle, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 12-6 defeat against Archbishop McCarthy on the 14th.
