The South Broward Bulldogs will take on the Coral Springs Colts at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, South Broward had just enough and edged Piper out 9-8. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Bengals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Ricky Losada and Keniel Marrero made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Losada pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Marrero pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs Losada has allowed since back in February of 2024. At the plate, Losada scored two runs while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances, while Marrero scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs Losada has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, South Broward got a great performance from Rocco Villella as he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance gave Villella a new career-high in strikeouts.
Back at the plate, Lane Parris and Christian Font did most of the damage at the plate: Parris scored a run while going 2-for-5, while Font scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Font a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Gabriel Lydia, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Coral Springs gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They never let Monarch onto the board and left with an 11-0 win.
Saul Betancourt tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and only a hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Shaquille Sala, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Jaxon Krugman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
