Chesaning is 10-0 against Lakeville since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Chesaning Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Lakeville Falcons at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chesaning has 11 straight wins, Lakeville has 36 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Chesaning strolled past Durand with points to spare, taking the game 54-40. Given Chesaning's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Durand is ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lakeville suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Ovid-Elsie on the road and fell 64-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Lakeville has suffered against Ovid-Elsie since December 14, 2018.
Chesaning's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Lakeville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.
Everything came up roses for Chesaning against Lakeville in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 72-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chesaning since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
