They had to suffer through a 44-0 loss at the hands of Bucklin. The Lancers haven't had much luck with the Red Aces recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Minneola took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They put the hurt on Kiowa County with a sharp 46-20 win. The Wildcats pushed the score to 34-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mavericks had little chance of recovering from.
One reason for the win was Minneola's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 9.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Allen Skeen and Cole Norton who racked up six sacks between them. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards.
