Princeton hasn't had much luck against Mason recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Vikings will host the Comets at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Princeton took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Clark Montessori as they made off with a 14-2 victory. With that win, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.
Brendan Randolph Foster looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Joe Roberts was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one RBI. Benji Tapia was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Princeton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clark Montessori only posted an OBP of .435.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mason). They put the hurt on Princeton with a sharp 8-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won nine in a row.
Ben Hanley looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grant O'Connor, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Sander, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
The victory got Princeton back to even at 4-4. As for Mason, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Mason's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Princeton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. It's a different story for Mason, though, as they've only averaged .231. Will they be able to contain Princeton's hitters?
Princeton might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Mason in their previous matchup on Friday. Will the Vikings have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
