Schaumburg Christian is 5-0 against Elgin Academy since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Schaumburg Christian Conquerors will be playing at home against the Elgin Academy Hilltoppers at 2:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Tuesday, Schaumburg Christian was the victim of a tough 68-44 defeat at the hands of Parkview Christian Academy. Schaumburg Christian has not had much luck with Parkview Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Carynton Hobson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Stephanie Tenuto, who scored four points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, sadly, Elgin Academy is still looking for their first win of the season after six matches. They fell just short of Harvard by a score of 2-0. Considering the last time Elgin Academy couldn't score was back in November of 2023, the team can't take the result too hard.
Schaumburg Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Elgin Academy, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
Schaumburg Christian barely slipped by Elgin Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, winning 43-42. Will Schaumburg Christian repeat their success, or does Elgin Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
