The Symmes Valley Vikings were the 68-54 winner over the Eastern Eagles when they last played one another back in February of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Symmes Valley was the victim of a tough 79-53 defeat at the hands of Eastern on Friday. Symmes Valley just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Smith, who scored 18 points. Tanner Corn was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Symmes Valley struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Symmes Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Eastern, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Symmes Valley will take on Western at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Symmes Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Eastern, they will head out on the road to square off against Northwest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
