For the first time this season, Sanger will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will take on the Bonham Warriors at 1:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Sanger 3.6, Bonham 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Sanger proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Memorial 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since February 13th.
Vivy Lynch was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tarryn Liechty, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Lynch wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Sanger lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Bonham entered their tilt with Paris on Friday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 21-1 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.
Bonham got a massive performance out of Haley Capehart, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was Capehart's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Laisy, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Bonham now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Sanger, their record is now 7-5-4.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Sanger has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. However, it's not like Bonham struggles in that department as they've averaged .528. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sanger might still be hurting after the 15-1 loss they got from Bonham in their previous meeting back in February of 2019. Can Sanger avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
