Pleasant Grove hasn't had much luck against Springville recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Red Devils at 3:30 p.m. Pleasant Grove will be strutting in after a victory while Springville will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Pleasant Grove turned things around against Timpview on Tuesday. They blew past the Thunderbirds 14-8. The Vikings not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26th (when they won 15-2).

Olivia Barnes tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
At the plate, Mia Hernandez was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mary Severe, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Springville faced Salem Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Red Devils took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Skyhawks.
Springville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Fairbourne, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Springville's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Pleasant Grove, their record is now 6-17.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Pleasant Grove hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Springville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Pleasant Grove couldn't quite get it done against Springville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
