Basketball Recap: Jeremiah Summers Key Part of a Team Effort in Wolves Win

Wolcott College Prep posted their closest win since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They skirted past the Hancock Eagles 47-44. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Eagles are ranked 671st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wolcott College Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeremiah Summers led the charge by putting up 26 points and five rebounds. Summers' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Habtamu Olson was another key player, posting seven points along with eight boards and seven steals.

Wolcott College Prep's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-1. As for Hancock, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Wolcott College Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-10 win against Waldorf on the 4th. As for Hancock, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-39 loss against Clemente on the 4th.
