Softball Recap: Minster Wins Going Away Against Coldwater

Minster got themselves on the board against Coldwater on Thursday, but Coldwater never followed suit. They blew past the Cavaliers 10-0. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Brooklyn Osterloh was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Whitney Trego was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Addi Inskeep was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Minster has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Coldwater, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Minster will venture away from home to square off against Marion Local at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coldwater, they will host Hilltop at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
