While Desert Vista didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Skyline Coyotes by a score of 2-0 on Friday. The Thunder haven't had any issues with the Coyotes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Desert Vista easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-11.

Kenzie Maldonado paced Desert Vista's offense, picking up eight kills. Maldonado got some help from Emerson Ortiz and her 20 assists.

Desert Vista's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Skyline, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Desert Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Desert Ridge on the 5th. As for Skyline, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Willow Canyon on the 6th.
