Colfax is 1-7 against Wheatland since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Colfax sitting on three straight victories and Wheatland on eight.
Colfax will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Marysville, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Falcons came out on top against the Indians by a score of 15-10 on Tuesday. With that win, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Lilly Stofleth was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sabrina Williams, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Colfax kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Wheatland got themselves on the board against Oakmont on Tuesday, but Oakmont never followed suit. They blew past the Vikings 10-0. Considering the Pirates have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kali Banuelos and Gwendylyn Chan did most of the damage at the plate: Banuelos went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Chan went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Raelynn Hulsey was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Wheatland's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Colfax, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Colfax hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Wheatland struggles in that department as they've averaged .424. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Colfax suffered a grim 21-1 defeat to Wheatland when the teams last played back in March. Will the Falcons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
