Empire entered their tilt with St. John Paul II Catholic on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 2-0.

Sadie Rust paced Empire's offense, picking up seven kills. Rust got some help from Madison Gardner and her 13 assists.

Empire's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Empire will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Buena at 6:00 p.m. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Mountainside on the 8th.
