The United South Central Rebels came into Saturday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They strolled past Wabasha-Kellogg with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 58-39. The win was just what United South Central needed coming off of a 81-55 loss in their prior match.
Despite the defeat, Wabasha-Kellogg saw an underclassman step up: Jessalyn Adams scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Adams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ileana DeAngel, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Wabasha-Kellogg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. This was only their 15th loss (out of 18 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
United South Central's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-16. As for Wabasha-Kellogg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-21.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. United South Central will take on Cleveland at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. United South Central is facing Cleveland at the right time seeing as Cleveland is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Wabasha-Kellogg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chatfield at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
