After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Volunteer, Grainger was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Cumberland Gap Panthers as they made off with a 12-2 win. Considering the Grizzlies have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Grainger let Destanee Davis and Amanda Kledzik run wild. Davis went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and two runs, while Kledzik went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave Davis a new career-high. Jaylee Nickell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Grainger's record now sits at 12-7. As for Cumberland Gap, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-16.
