Bloomfield has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Bloomfield strolled past Osmond/Randolph with points to spare, taking the game 59-40. That 59-40 margin sets a new team best for Bloomfield this season.
It was another big night for Madison Abbenhaus, who scored 27 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Bloomfield's points. Tenly Gilsdorf was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Plainview on Friday as Laurel-Concord-Coleridge made off with a 71-49 win. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge found their leader in underclassman Rena Rasmussen, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kaida Eriksen, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Bloomfield's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Bloomfield skirted past Laurel-Concord-Coleridge 48-45 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bloomfield since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
