Dwight Morrow dropped their record down to 7-13 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost  13-5 to the Dumont Huskies. The Maroon Raiders were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Huskies from their previous meeting  back in April of 2024.
 Cooper Won put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs but no hits. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-low in  walks (three). He was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  run.
 In other batting news,  William Lopez was cooking despite his team's loss,   getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run. Another player making a difference was  Charlie King, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI.
As for Dumont, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-13. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.3 runs over those games.
On Dumont's side,  Joey Sutera tossed a big game,   tossing five innings while giving up  three earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. Sutera has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Eric Orso was a standout: he got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with four  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Dumont's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is undefeated (and 9-13 when he doesn't).  Luke Sobek was another key player,  going 3-for-5 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Coming up, Dumont will square off against Cresskill at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Dwight Morrow will be paying especially close attention to the Huskies'  match: after the Huskies face off against the Cougars, they'll take on Dwight Morrow again  at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday.
