The Cave Spring Knights''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 27-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pulaski County. Cave Spring was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pulaski County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
Pulaski County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trevor Gallimore out in front who rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns. Gallimore is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Chase Lawrence also helped out as he racked up 115 rushing yards.
Cave Spring's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Patrick Henry and 9-1 William Byrd (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72.8% over those games). As for Pulaski County, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6.
Cave Spring does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pulaski County will head out on the road to face off against William Byrd at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. William Byrd will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
