It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Orono Riots had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 46-18 victory over Old Orchard Beach. The win was just business as usual for Orono, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
Orono's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pierce Walston, who rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, and also picked up 104 receiving yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Francis, who rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns.
Orono's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Old Orchard Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 10-1.
Orono does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Old Orchard Beach also has no future games currently scheduled.
