Rolla has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. Rolla will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 349th in Kansas, while South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] is ranked 173rd in Colorado).
After soaring to 64 points the game before, Rolla were a bit more limited in their contest back in December of 2023. They had to suffer through a rough 52-21 loss at the hands of Weskan.
Despite the loss, Rolla saw an underclassman step up: Jonathan Kaiser scored eight points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett]'s good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost to Felt at home by a decisive 62-44 margin. South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] has struggled against Felt recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] got a solid performance out of Hayden Brooks, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 52.3% of South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett]'s points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dallas Calzonetti, who scored eight points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Even though they lost, South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Rolla's record is now 2-6. South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett]'s record is now 4-4.
Tuesday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Rylan Williams and Brooks. Williams has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 11.4 points. For his part, Brooks has averaged 15.1 points, 2.5 blocks, and 11.4 rebounds.
Rolla might still be hurting after the 69-47 defeat they got from South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Rolla avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
