Winning a state championship is a significant factor in determining the final MaxPreps Top 25 high school softball rankings. Another aspect considered is a deep postseason run, especially if a team loses to another nationally ranked opponent.
Florida has been a challenging state to assess this season as there hasn't been a clear-cut favorite but several strong teams are vying for the top spot in the state. The state championship brackets have been set and regional quarterfinals are scheduled to begin on May 11. The rigorous journey to secure a state title in many divisions showcases some of the most intense competition in the country.
It's a do-or-die situation that separates the best of the best.
