Midway/Minto is 8-2 against Larimore since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Midway/Minto Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Larimore Polar Bears at 7:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Midway/Minto had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a hard 67-51 fall against Cavalier last Friday.
Meanwhile, Larimore came up short against North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] on Friday and fell 57-50. Larimore has struggled against North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Larimore had strong showings from Jace Collison, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Michael Myers, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Avery Gratton was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.
Midway/Minto bumped their record down to 0-1 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Larimore, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-1.
Midway/Minto beat Larimore 65-53 when the teams last played back in January. Does Midway/Minto have another victory up their sleeve, or will Larimore turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
