The South Pike Eagles will be playing at home against the Lawrence County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lawrence County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on South Pike, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, South Pike sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-50 victory over Magee. The victory was just what South Pike needed coming off of a 57-25 defeat in their prior game.
Alannah Pittman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Deanna Lewis, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lawrence County came up short against Brookhaven last Tuesday and fell 54-47. Lawrence County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
South Pike has yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-2 record. As for Lawrence County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
South Pike was able to grind out a solid victory over Lawrence County when the teams last played back in January of 2021, winning 49-36. Does South Pike have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lawrence County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
