It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hilltop ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Pettisville Blackbirds 11-10. With that victory, the Cadets brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Brennan Dempsey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
