The Morgan Academy Senators had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 61-29 win over Monroe Academy. The win was just what Morgan Academy needed coming off of a 59-35 loss in their prior matchup.
Morgan Academy found their leader in underclassman CJ Christopher Williams, who scored 28 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Morgan Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wallis Gilmore, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds.
Morgan Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Monroe Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Morgan Academy will head out on the road to challenge the Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Senators in Alabama (the Gators are ranked 117th, while the Senators are ranked 322nd). Monroe Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
