If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Charleston. On Friday they take on J.Z. George . Charleston are cruising in on a four-game winning streak while J.Z. George are stumbling in off of seven consecutive losses.
Charleston didn't have too much trouble with Amanda Elzy last Friday as they won 24-8. Junior Jay Brown, who rushed for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Charleston's success. Brown has now scored at least one touchdown in the past 4 games.
Meanwhile, J.Z. George ended up a good deal behind Ruleville Central when they played, losing 14-29.
Charleston's win lifted them to 5-2 while J.Z. George's defeat dropped them down to 0-7. We'll find out if Charleston can add another positive mark to their record or if J.Z. George can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Charleston's step.
