The River Valley Dust Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 50-34 to Kingman. The result was an unpleasant reminder to River Valley of the 35-17 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why River Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kierra Clay. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Clay continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Avery Waldrip was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Kingman, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River Valley will take on Salome at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Salome is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. Kingman won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tonopah Valley at 4:00 p.m. on January 24th. Tonopah Valley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last 13 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
