The Jackson Day Mariners stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Grace Academy with a sharp 61-36 win. The victory was nothing new for Jackson Day as they're now sitting on three straight.
Despite the loss, Grace Academy still got an impressive performance from Kalista Pressley, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Pressley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Helms, who scored no points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Jackson Day pushed their record up to 24-6 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Grace Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Jackson Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grace Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Covenant Classical at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Grace Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday.
