Wildwood is 0-4 against Woodstown since April of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Wildwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Lower Cape May on Monday as they made off with a 25-6 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Emma Contreras made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Contreras was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-6 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Lillo got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Cooper got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Lillo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellasyn Morey, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Wildwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Woodstown made easy work of Pitman on Monday and carried off an 8-2 victory. Considering the Wolverines have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Leah Clark, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Elizabeth Wygand was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Woodstown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Wildwood, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Wildwood has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. However, it's not like Woodstown struggles in that department as they've averaged .493. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wildwood might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Woodstown when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
