The Mayer Wildcats suffered their biggest defeat since November 29, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 58-20 loss at the hands of Salome. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mayer has scored all season.
Salome's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Edgar Gamez, who scored 18 points. Jovany Calderon was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Mayer's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-11. As for Salome, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mayer will take on North Valley Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salome, they will head out on the road to square off against Desert Heights Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
