Brown hasn't had much luck against Moore recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bears will challenge the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Brown knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Moore likes a good challenge.
On Wednesday, Brown made easy work of Western and carried off a 10-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Quinn Gallagher made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, Oscar Wright was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Wright is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Jamison Calloway was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Moore was a bit more limited in their match last Tuesday. They lost 16-2 to Bullitt Central. The Mustangs have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Isaac Northern made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Brown is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.9 runs over those games. As for Moore, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Brown has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .532. However, it's not like Moore struggles in that department as they've averaged .492. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Brown came out on top in a nail-biter against Moore in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 11-10. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
