Hoffman Estates is 0-10 against Barrington since May of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Fillies/Broncos at 4:45 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Hoffman Estates had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Fenton on Saturday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Bison. The Hawks not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5th (when they won 13-2).

Colin Karecki was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Luis Tobella was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Adrian Bello, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Hoffman Estates always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Barrington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Buffalo Grove with a sharp 8-1 win on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Michael Audino looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jackson Roberts, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Aiden Gryzlo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Barrington pushed their record up to 12-5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hoffman Estates, their record now sits at 6-14.
