Softball Recap: Muncy Beats Lewisburg for Their Third Straight Win

Muncy entered their tilt with Lewisburg on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Green Dragons a 10-0 shutout. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Green Dragons, too.

Chevelle Bauman was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leah Vest, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Rachel Paulhamus, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Muncy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .600 or higher in three consecutive matches.

The victory got Muncy back to even at 5-5. As for Lewisburg, their loss was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14.

Looking ahead, Muncy will head out to take on Bucktail at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lewisburg, they will be playing at home against Bloomsburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
