Midland is 0-5 against St. Bede since March of 2024 but things could change on Wednesday. The Timberwolves will square off against the Bruins at 4:30 p.m. Midland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Midland blew Lowpoint-Washburn out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Lowpoint-Washburn got their revenge. The Timberwolves fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Timberwolves have suffered since April 3, 2025.

Adalynn Stickel (2027) was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Zoey Holmstrom (2026) made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. Sophia Cordio (2028) was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, St. Bede entered their tilt with Putnam County on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They were the clear victors by an 18-5 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Bruins have won 20 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Ava Balestri, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Bosnich, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
St. Bede was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
St. Bede's record now sits at 25-4. As for Midland, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.
Midland might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from St. Bede in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Timberwolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
