The Sterling Silver Knights lost against the Holy Spirit Spartans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Sterling ended up on the wrong side of a rough 69-49 walloping at the hands of Holy Spirit.
Despite the defeat, Sterling saw an underclassman step up: Lexi Kuhn dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Mackenzie McDonald was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Holy Spirit, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Sterling will be home for the holidays to greet Haddon Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Haddon Heights and Sterling are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Holy Spirit, they will head out on the road to face off against Middle Township at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
