Johnson Creek not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 25th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Markesan.
While Johnson Creek won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-21, 25-23.
Deerfield won the last time they faced Hustisford and Lily Betthauser did her part to make sure it happened again. The Demons were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Falcons on Thursday for which the team can thank Betthauser, who had 15 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Deerfield took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-13, 25-8.
Johnson Creek's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Deerfield, their win bumped their record up to 24-12.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Johnson Creek hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 4.6 blocks per game. It's a different story for Deerfield, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 blocks. Given Johnson Creek's sizable advantage in that area, the Demons will need to find a way to close that gap.
