The Northside Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 68-67 to Tift County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keron Milton jr., who scored 22 points. Milton jr. continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chastan Brown, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Northside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Tift County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Northside won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Warner Robins at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th. Warner Robins knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Northside likes a good challenge. As for Tift County, they will head out on the road to face off against Cook at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
