Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to post seven more assists than your opponent, a fact the Snyder Tigers proved on Tuesday. They took down Sweetwater 53-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Snyder.
Snyder got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Arynne Vasquez out in front who scored 12 points along with two steals. Jayci Medrano was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kendall Daniel, who scored six points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaidynce Tilley, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Snyder is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-15 record this season. As for Sweetwater, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-10.
Snyder will head out on the road to take on Estacado at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Estacado will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Sweetwater will take on Big Spring at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Big Spring has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
