Piedmont Community Charter enjoyed a cozy 72-55 victory over the Owls. Given Piedmont Community Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Owls are ranked 461st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bobby Erwin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with two steals. Victor Plessmoses was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Valor Preparatory Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bishop Witherspoon, who scored 17 points. Witherspoon is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Daniels, who scored 15 points.
Piedmont Community Charter pushed their record up to 14-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Piedmont Community Charter's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Queen's Grant is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the NightHawks at 7:00 p.m. NorthPoint Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
