The Wooster Colts entered their tilt with the North Valleys Panthers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Wooster took down North Valleys 65-49 on Friday. This was payback for Wooster, who suffered a 61-52 loss the last time these two teams met.
Jared Marquicias continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with seven steals and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamal Gaitor, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Kadyn Shackelford and Kyrone Washington certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Shackelford scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two blocks, while Washington scored ten points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Washington pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isaiah White, who scored seven points.
Wooster has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for North Valleys, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Wooster will be playing in front of their home fans against Sparks at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Valleys, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against South Tahoe at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. South Tahoe knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully North Valleys likes a good challenge.
