The Friendship Christian Commanders had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 35-0 victory over Donelson Christian Academy. Considering Friendship Christian has won nine games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Tyson Wolcott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 210 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Wolcott is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.
Friendship Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB ten times. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
The victory (which was Friendship Christian's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 King's Academy and 4-7 Ezell-Harding Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35% over those games). As for Donelson Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Friendship Christian will play host again and welcome Nashville Christian, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Donelson Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
