Softball Recap: Comfort's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Comfort's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Brady Bulldogs as Comfort made off with a 15-6 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bobcats/Deer as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ella Thiele made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Jordan Judkins and Bella Hernandez did most of the damage at the plate: Judkins went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs, while Hernandez went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits Judkins has posted since back in February of 2024. Kaydence Stehling was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Comfort kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Comfort's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-15. As for Brady, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Comfort will head out to face off against Florence at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Comfort will need to watch out since Florence has now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for Brady, they will venture away from home to challenge Ingram Moore at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ingram Moore has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.47 runs per game on average), something Brady will no doubt try to take advantage of.
